Earlier today I was watching The Land Before Time lll: The Time of the Great Giving as our wind down before nap time. One line really stood out to me so I wanted go share it:
“If you always react with anger, that’s all your son will know. And that’s all he will be able to express to others.”
I’ve seen firsthand parents who yell, yell, yell and/or are extremely sarcastic toward their children and then make comments about their children’s attitude or constant yelling so if you are noticing this kind of behavior from your children, next time you become flustered, frustrated, impatient, annoyed, etc. by your children try to take a deep breath and focus on your reaction. Try to react in the manner you desire your children to react to things that they find unpleasant and then watch how their behavior and reactions change along with your own.
