About Me
My name is Danielle and I have been working in the early childhood field since 2007. I currently teach Pre-K at a local preschool where my son also attends and am an independent consultant with The Pampered Chef.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Professional Studies and an area of concentration in Deaf Education. I also have a pre-master's in Speech Language Pathology.
I have always had a passion for children and began babysitting around the age of 13. In 2007, I began my career in the early childhood field working as an assistant teacher at a preschool where I had the opportunity to work in all the classrooms from infants to toddlers, to preschool, Prek-K as well as school-agers in our before and after school care program. Two months before graduating with my degree, I was offered a position as Lead Infant Room teacher which I gladly accepted.
After several years of teaching infants, I became a Head Start teacher, which was by far the most challenging, yet most rewarding, job I have ever had. My classroom was full of children between the ages of 3-5 in low-income families, many who had experienced far more than any child should at their ages. It was during my time here that many of the things I will be talking about through my blogs were really tested and proven to work.
Over the years, I have been asked for my thoughts and advice on various early childhood topics from such an array of people so with some encouragement from friends, family, and colleagues, I decided to launch this blog to share these thoughts with all of you.
So, thank you for reading and please be sure to contact me anytime!
